Lazy Moves

In development

A movement diary for your day.

When did I leave, and how long was I out? Lazy Moves keeps spontaneous walks and journeys as an approximate movement diary, right on your phone.

Coming soon to Google Play

About the app

Look back at where your day took you

Enable recording once and the diary runs throughout your day, including when the screen is off. Lazy Moves groups location points into outings and stops. Each outing shows duration, distance, speed and a route outline. From speed, the app estimates whether you walked, ran, cycled or travelled in a vehicle; optional activity recognition refines this. Correct an activity yourself and delete false entries. Name places such as Home or Work.

Frugal where it can be

The app checks more often on the move and less often while you rest. On Wi-Fi it can pause location requests once stillness is confirmed. Choose whether any Wi-Fi, only chosen networks such as home and work, or no Wi-Fi may pause recording. Location accuracy on the move comes in three levels: Saver, Balanced and Precise.

Your data stays with you

No app account, no ads, no analytics. The diary lives only on your phone. Back it up to a file and restore it on a new phone, export it as CSV or save routes as GPX. OpenStreetMap street maps and address lookup are optional and off by default. See the privacy policy.

Lazy Moves Plus

An optional one-time purchase, no subscription: a weekly overview and yearly totals by activity in History, detailed route recording and optional sharing of walks, runs and bike rides with Health Connect. The free diary stays fully usable.

Accuracy and battery use

Recording is approximate. Reception, Android power-saving settings and your settings affect how complete an outing is; more precise routes use more battery. Lazy Moves is not a navigation or safety tool. The guide covers setup and common gaps in recordings.

Lazy Moves is in testing and coming soon to Google Play.
