Smart playlists and tags
What is imported
Gazania imports the tracks present in the smart playlist at export time. Changed rules or contents become visible after a fresh XML export and another processing run.
Choose the order
Enable “Sort Smart Playlists by Tag” and add a sorting tag at the end of the playlist name. - means descending, + ascending. Descending is the default when no sign is given.
| Tag | Sort by |

“Favourites pc-” puts the most-played tracks first. “New Music da-” starts with the most recently added tracks. Separate the tag from the name with whitespace or one of % # $ : ( [; a closing bracket is optional.
Without a tag, choose a general order in “Sort Smart Playlists” or use “Sort Smart Playlists Reverse Order”.
Split playlists
Enable “Split Smart Playlists by Tag”. A * tag in the name splits by decade d, year y, grouping g or rating r. A number limits the number of groups. ** also keeps the original playlist.
For example, “Rock *d3+” creates up to three decade groups and places older tracks in the last group. “Favourites **r2” keeps the original playlist and adds groups for the two highest ratings. Split tags can be combined with sorting tags.
