Destination and file layout

Start with an empty folder

A dedicated empty folder makes initial setup easier. Choose a location Gasamba can access with enough storage for the selected tracks.

“Use ID3 artist/album/title path”

When enabled, Gasamba organises files into an artist/album/title layout based on metadata. When disabled, the destination layout follows the source music folder.

Copy music by USB first

Pre-copying music can speed up the first transfer of a large collection. If you keep the iTunes folder layout, select the folder containing artist subfolders as the destination and disable the ID3 path option before the first run. Test the match with a small playlist first.

Keep XML and music consistent

For missing tracks, first check that the XML is current and points to files inside the share. Folder and file-name changes must be reflected in the export.

Android folder access

Choose a dedicated local storage or SD-card folder through Android’s system folder picker. Cloud document providers are unsupported. Grant access again after moving the folder or reinstalling. Keep enough free space. Automatic cleanup only removes tracked Gasamba downloads; separate cleanup commands can remove more after confirmation.
